All iPhone 17 Air models have an "Always On" haptic-touch capable 6.5" (diagonal) "Super Retina XDR" OLED display with ProMotion (2796x1290, ~460 ppi, 120Hz refresh rates) that occupies nearly the entire front of the device. It has three cameras in total. On the front — tucked in the "Dynamic Island" — is a "TrueDepth" camera that in addition to supporting Face ID, has a f/1.9 aperture, takes 12 megapixel photos, and shoots 4K Dolby Vision video. The rear is equipped with a dual-camera system featuring two advanced 48 megapixel lenses — a main wide (24 mm, f/1.78 aperture) with sensor-shift stabilization and an ultra-wide (13 mm, f/2.2 aperture) — capable of capturing detailed photos and 4K HDR video.

The iPhone 17 Air uses an aerospace-grade aluminum case with flat sides, a glass front, and a glass back. The front is protected by a "Ceramic Shield" cover for durability, while the back integrates the "MagSafe" magnetic charging connection. It is splash, water, and dust resistant with an IP68 rating (maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes). The iPhone 17 Air is available in four color options — Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue. Internally, the iPhone 17 Air is powered by Apple’s latest A19 Bionic chip with a 6-core CPU — two performance cores and four efficiency cores — along with a 5-core Apple GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. It comes with 8 GB of RAM and is available in 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB storage options. The iPhone 17 Air supports 802.11be Wi-Fi 7 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio, second-generation Ultra Wideband, and NFC for Apple Pay.
